Froth flotation beneficiation method

Froth flotation is the most widely used mineral-processing technique, in which differences in the physicochemical properties of mineral surfaces are exploited to separate minerals from the ore slurry by means of bubble buoyancy. Building on this process, Nanke Heavy Industry has developed a series of flotation reagents that not only reduce reagent consumption by 10% but also improve flotation efficiency by 20%.

Process Overview

Froth flotation is the most widely used mineral-processing technique, in which differences in the physicochemical properties of mineral surfaces are exploited to achieve mineral separation from the ore slurry by means of bubble buoyancy. Building on this process, Nankai Heavy Industry has developed a series of flotation reagents that not only reduce reagent consumption by 10% but also improve flotation efficiency by 20%.

Scope of Application
The flotation process developed by Nankexing Heavy Industry can be widely applied to the beneficiation of non-ferrous metals, ferrous metals, and non-metallic minerals, and is particularly well suited for roughing and scavenging operations in large and medium-sized flotation plants. It is capable of processing a wide range of non-ferrous ores, including gold, silver, copper, iron, tungsten, lead, zinc, tin, molybdenum, nickel, tantalum, niobium, and manganese ores, as well as non-metallic minerals such as fluorite and talc.

Flotation Case —300 tpd Gold Flotation Project in Nigeria

In 2023, a Nigerian client collected a 200 kg ore sample on site and subsequently commissioned the Nankexuan Ore-Processing Laboratory to conduct beneficiation tests. Following characterization of the raw ore, the laboratory determined that the deposit is a gold-bearing quartz-vein type, with pyrite, limonite, and native gold as the principal metallic minerals, and an average grade of 5.23 g/t.

A preliminary investigation of the ore-dressing process conditions for this project was conducted, and the Nankai Ore-Processing Laboratory found that the gold recovery rate is higher under flotation conditions. Consequently, Nankai decided to adopt a two-stage, single-circuit crushing–grinding–flotation flow sheet to produce a gold concentrate. After grinding the raw ore, a single roughing, three scavenging, and three cleaning stages are carried out, yielding a gold concentrate with a recovery rate of 86.27%. Ultimately, an optimal ore-dressing equipment configuration was selected.
